Jimmy Buffet spins a fantastic new yarn about a lighthouse and lots of dreams
A Salty Piece of Land
by Jimmy Buffet
Yep, it’s not really a mainstream kinda story, but then again sailors aren’t really always mainstream kinda people. And if you are, Jimmy has a knack for giving you a simply refreshing change of pace from your typical everyday life. Want to escape for an afternoon? It won’t take you much longer to zip through this thoroughly entertaining piece of escapism fiction (Or is it really fiction? Sounds a bit autobiographical if you ask us…)
Where else would you find a cowboy running away from a lunatic female boss out west who wants to put him in jail for breaking a window? Where else would that cowboy find his way with his horse aboard a fishing boat crossing the Gulf of Mexico and eventually making his way to a fishing camp in Belize? Where else can that cowboy find the dream job with a 101 year old female captain aboard a tall ship restoring a lighthouse and end up in
Key West
with the girl of his dreams? Of course, there are a few additional adventures in
Mexico
, the
Bahamas
, and other places along the way.
N ow you’ll have to get past some of the characters’ names, but hey you’re used to that by now. Just chuckle out loud and put yourself in the adventurer’s seat. Buckle up though, the ride could get a little bumpy. Comes with a one song CD that doesn't appear anywhere else. The song reflects the story line of the book.
Of course Jimmy's new CD is a "must have" to go along with the book. What else are you gonna listen to while reading?
