"In SLIPKNOT Greenlaw proves that she's as skillful a mystery writer as she is a fishing boat captain--and that's saying a lot. A fantastic read!" - Sebastian Junger

Linda Greenlaw, the real life fishing boat captain from the Perfect Storm, and subsequent author of several books about fishing that changed my view of eating certain fish forever, has now tried her hand at fiction. SLIPKNOT, the first of a series, is a murder mystery with a lady protagonist.

SLIPKNOT’s protagonist, Jane Bunker, seems to speak with the voice of the author. Based in Green Haven, Maine, Jane settles in this small town to start a new career as insurance investigator. Although you never really learn exactly why she left the police force, you get the sense she wanted a new start.

Coming to this small town, however, soon has her back in her old sleauthing ways, when a murder of the town drunk starts to smell fishy.

Although we must say that her style has some developing to do, Linda has managed to create an engaging story with plenty of twists and turns to keep you occupied at the beach for a day or so. And fans of Linda will enjoy her portrayal of life in a small town, where everyone knows everyone's business and you can't keep the landlords out of yours no matter how hard you try.
